Central Michigan Recovery and Education Network Brand Identity
A project in which I collaborated on a team of five other design students to create the branding identity and extensive brand application of the Central Michigan Recovery and Education Network (CMREN).
Deliverables
Brand Identity
Instances of application of brand identity

Client Background
The Central Michigan Recovery and Education Network (CMREN) is a network of institutions and agencies working collaboratively to provide services to treat, support sustainable recovery, and prevent substance misuse within four main populations including those pregnant, unhoused, recently released from incarceration, and veterans. They also aim to educate communities on SUD to reduce the stigma around the disorder. CMREN works within the five-county region of Mecosta, Montcalm, Osceola, Newaygo and Lake County.
Concept Development
After reviewing CMREN’s previous brand identity and core values, we developed four new identity concepts. After presenting these to the clients, we refined the final direction by combining elements from two of the concepts.

The concept we landed on utilizes threads as a representational device for CMREN as a brand.
Brand Identity
With the concept and visual direction narrowed, we then went on to fully flush out the new CMREN brand identity.
Brand Kit
To ensure the CMREN brand would be used clearly and consistently, we created a brand kit website, which allowed for ease of access to the CMREN team and ease of updating and modifications by the DPC team.

You can find the live version of the CMREN Brand guides site here.
Brand Applications
In addition to creating CMREN’s branding, we applied this branding across many of their organizations touchpoints, such as: their website, newsletters, stationery, other printed materials, and brand launch day materials.
